Haruka plays a large role in the RahXephon series. At the beginning of the series she rescues (sort of, lol) Kamina Ayato from Tokyo Jupiter during Operation Overlord. As the series progresses, it becomes more and more obvious that Haruka's concern for Ayato and the attention she pays him is not mere coincidence.

Why is Haruka so concerned about and preoccupied by Ayato? 12 years ago Haruka was also from Tokyo. Back then she was know as Mishima Haruka (her mother later remarried which is why she is known as Shitow Haruka during the series). She went to school with Ayato and they were a couple. She was outside of Tokyo when it was taken by the MU.

Haruka never forgot Ayato, her one, true love. Which is why she joined TERRA and why she was so concerned for Ayato. This is also where I came up with the title for this fanlisting. Haruka truely shows determination. Her love for Ayato took determination; in terms of time, courage, devotion, patience and strength of will/character.
